Ross McLean is a research and insight expert, innovator, and pioneer in the Research Technology industry. As Vice President, Mobile Qualitative, and Product Manager of Schlesinger Group’s Over The Shoulder platform, Ross puts his passion for software design and user experience to work helping Schlesinger Group develop the next generation of digital qualitative tools for its clients.
Ross began his career as a qualitative researcher/ethnographer. His notable talent for unearthing insights and turning them into innovative business ideas led him to a highly successful 16-year career as a brand strategist for leading global advertising agencies.
After contributing to insight-driven business successes for global retail and consumer brands, Ross turned his passion for insights in a different direction and designed and founded Over The Shoulder, the world’s first smartphone ethnography platform. After 12 years of running award-winning insight projects and establishing smartphone ethnography as a practice, Over The Shoulder was acquired by Schlesinger Group in 2020.
