Ana Gutiérrez leads healthcare research solutions at Sago Spain. She joined Sago in 2019 when her medical marketing research company ThinkPhar, was acquired by BDI Research (now Sago Spain) as part of a strategy to grow its healthcare research expertise and services.

Ana’s professional medical background has allowed her to develop trusted partnerships and outstanding research guidance. Ana received her medical degree in 1990 from the University of Alcala de Henares in Madrid. She worked in Internal Medicine in Glasgow, UK, and then completed her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, which included a year of full-time medical research.  In 1995, she began her medical marketing and market research career in Spain. She has extensive experience conducting focus groups and interviews (face-to-face and by telephone) with doctors, KOLs, and patients. She is an accomplished analyst and writer; the fruits of her research have provided many pharmaceutical and marketing organizations with a deep understanding of the Spanish market. She is also well-versed in all the laws, regulations, and industry practices pertinent to conducting market research in Spain and has worked across all disease areas, including hematology, oncology, women’s health, primary care, cardiology, rheumatology, endocrinology, dermatology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, neurology, infectious diseases, respiratory medicine, urology, renal medicine, and many other specialties. Ana also has several years of experience conducting ethnographic projects in such areas as HIV, cancer, and diabetes.

Ana is fluent in Spanish and English.
